# Cards and ATMs

# Cards and ATMs

Players order debit cards at a branch and use them at every ATM on the map.
An ATM needs a card and its 4-digit PIN.

## Item cards or player-bound cards

RoadBanking picks the card mode from your inventory:

| | Item cards | Player-bound cards |
| - | - | - |
| When | Your inventory supports item metadata (ox\_inventory, qb-inventory, tgiann, codem, core\_inventory, ...) and `Config.Cards.Item` is set | Your inventory has no item metadata (for example the default ESX inventory), or `Config.Cards.Item = false` |
| The card is | An item in the inventory that carries the card number | Bound to the player, no item |
| Cards per player | Up to `MaxPerAccount` (default 2) per account | **One** card in total |
| Lost or stolen cards | A found card plus its PIN works at an ATM (`AllowForeignCards`) | Not possible |
| Replace plastic | Yes | No |

The [card item](https://docs.roadshop.org/roadbanking/installation.md) only needs to be added for item
cards.

## Ordering a card

In the **Cards** tab, players choose **Order card**, pick the account and
choose a PIN. The card costs `Config.Cards.OrderFee` (\$250 by default), paid
from that account, and is ready right away.

Who may order a card for an account:

* Checking: the owner.
* Shared: owner and managers.
* Business: employees with the `withdraw` grade or the boss.

## Managing a card

| Action | What it does |
| - | - |
| **Freeze** | Stops the card at ATMs until it is unfrozen. |
| **Change PIN** | Sets a new PIN. This also unblocks a card blocked by wrong PINs. |
| **Daily limit** | How much the card may withdraw per day, up to `MaxDailyLimit` (default $50,000). New cards start at `DailyLimit` (default $5,000). |
| **Replace plastic** | Item cards only: a new item for the same card, for example after losing it. The fee is not charged again. |
| **Cancel card** | The card stops working for good. |

> [!TIP]
>
> A replaced card keeps its number, so a lost item still works. Freeze or
> cancel the card if it might have been stolen.

## Using an ATM

ATMs are the GTA ATM props listed in `Config.ATM.Models`. Players use the
target option or press **E** in front of one.

**1. Insert a card**

The ATM lists the cards the player can use: the card items they carry, or
their player-bound card.

**2. Enter the PIN**

After `Config.Cards.PinAttempts` wrong PINs (default 3) the card is
blocked until its owner sets a new PIN at a branch.

**3. Choose what to do**

* **Withdraw** with quick amounts or any other amount. The menu shows how
  much of the daily limit is left. An optional `Config.ATM.Fee` is added
  per withdrawal.
* **Deposit** cash (when `Config.ATM.Deposit` is on).
* **Statement** with the latest bookings.
* **Change PIN** with the current PIN.
* **Return card** when done.

> [!NOTE]
>
> With `Config.Cards.Enabled = false` there are no cards: ATMs open the
> player's checking account directly.
